Our most famous mountain peak
Slogen is the most iconic mountain in the area, with a dramatic peak that overlooks the Hjørundfjord. The trail starts just 10 minutes' walk from Knutegarden.
Good hiking boots are a must. Steep and challenging terrain in places.

Located in Habostaddalen, between Slogen and Smørskredtind. The cabin accommodates 23 guests. Start: Øye, Skylstad or Stranda. Time: 3 hours up, 2 hours down.
Activities and adventures in the local area
At Knutegarden you can meet many different animals: Norwegian Fjord horses, rabbits, calves, cows, cats and a small dog.
It's possible to visit the animals, but we ask that you arrange a time with us in advance. The best time is after feeding and tending to the farm.
The Norangsfjord is only 250 meters from Knutegarden (5 min. walk). The Hjørundfjord is 35 km long and 440 meters deep.
Hobby fishing in the sea for personal consumption is free. Fishing rod is permitted.
In Norangsdalen there are several lakes with trout and char. Fishing permits are purchased at the machine by Lygnstølsvatnet.
In the Norangsdal river you can fish for trout and salmon in season. Fishing permits are purchased at Hotel Union Øye.
It's only 250 meters to the dock. At Knutegarden you can rent a 14-foot fiberglass boat with outboard motor.
